Description
The Georgia Tech Library Dissertation Defense Room is a space where PhD and Master's candidates can host, defend, stream, and record their dissertation. Scroll to the calendar below to select an available 4 hour block to reserve your defense time.
Room Details:
- Is limited to Georgia Tech PhD dissertation and Master's theses defenses
- Is a free, self-service space with technology capabilities to video conference with remote committee members, livestream, and record
- Is reservable for a four-hour time slots Monday-Thursday for defenses. Fridays are reserved for technical rehearsals (required for all defenses)
- Defense times are reserved in a four hour slot, anytime 8am-5pm, M-Th.
- Rehearsal times: 1 hour on any Friday before your defense, between 9:00am-5:00pm (the rehearsal reservation form is at https://libcal.library.gatech.edu/space/159418)
- Thesis/Dissertation defenses must be reserved at least 2 weeks in advance. Click on the calendar below and scroll to your desired defense date to reserve.

- Cameras and microphones for recording/streaming
- Zoom conferencing platform
- Presentation clickers

- Seating & table for attendees (capacity 25)

Other Notes:
- If you are serving food at your event, you must comply with the Institute policy and guidelines food services.
- Student is responsible for throwing away all trash in the nearest trashcan and reporting any spills.
- Student is responsible for resetting the room after their defense (a layout of the room will be provided)
